Prerecorded Concert
CA frequent recipient of the question, "How high was that note!?", Lauren Shafer is a light coloratura soprano. Ms. Shafer received her Bachelor of Music at Illinois Wesleyan University studying under Professor Robert Mangialardi. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with her Masters under the tutelage of Professor James Doing, Ms. Shafer was honored with the opportunity to perform the national anthem at her commencement ceremony. Recent performances include featuring as a guest artist at the Champagne Gala for Prairie Fire Theatre in Bloomington, IL. Ms. Shafer was also a semi-finalist in the Harold Haugh Light Opera Competition in February 2020. Previous roles include Adele in Die Fledermaus and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel.
Sarah Williams holds a Master's in Collaborative Piano from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is particularly passionate about chamber music and accompanies a wide variety of soloists. A graduate of UW-Oshkosh, she received her bachelor's in piano performance, where she was the winner of the UW-Oshkosh Concerto Competition, the UW-Oshkosh Honors Competition, and UW-Oshkosh Celebration of Scholarship.
Besides performing as a soloist and working with duos, Sarah has accompanied a wide range of ensembles. Currently, she continues to work with soloists and ensembles within UW-Madison and throughout the community.

Goals 2022




2022 Goals Achieved:
Donor Leaf Wall
We constructed an additional Donor Leaf Wall, across from the fitness room, which expanded on the theme of leaves.
Vegetable Gardens
We built on last year's successful gardens by creating four additional vegetable garden beds and installing a new water irrigation system. We continued our community outreach and partnerships with Evanston Grows, Garden Club of Evanston and the City of Evanston.
Free Programming
We continued to offer our free programs and concerts: Levy Lectures, Levy Longevity Series, Jamming Jean and Fran Randall music concerts.
Hoops For the Ages
We helped to facilitate this 3-on-3 basketball tournament for men and women 40+. The tournament took take place April 9 and 10.

Outdoor Spaces
As part of the annual refreshment and maintenance of the Center's outdoor areas, the LSCF:

Maintains the vegetable gardens with help from community partners

Plants and maintains the north and south gardens and flower beds surrounding the Mulford and Dodge Levy Center signage

Works with the City on the Rothschild Garden
Levy Lecture Series
We continue to offer virtual Levy Lectures with an eclectic lineup of speakers.
Levy Longevity Series
This series is on hiatus while we look for a new health partner.
Jamming Jean
Our 2023 goal, Covid permitting, is to host 4 live concerts at the Center.
Fran Randall Concert Series
We continue to present young, talented classical musicians 3-4 times a year in the Maple Room.
Tech Assistance
We provide volunteer tech support which includes low vision help for computers, zoom help and simple tech troubleshooting.
